Lorraine Retires After 25 Years
The whole NZ Pump family is sad to see Lorraine leave as she retires after an amazing career working to grow our company. We thank her for her service and commitment and wish her well for many happy years ahead. Below are some thoughts she noted down as she reflected on her time here:
When I first started working for the NZ Pump Company over 25 years ago, two of us worked out of a round haybarn in Newstead on the outskirts of Hamilton. We spent time travelling to Thames learning all aspects of the pump and testing new machines and pipe.
As the company grew so did the staff and eventually the company moved to Hamilton. There were new products being designed and produced and new customers coming on board at a great rate. A branch was opened in the USA and one in the UK.
As the years went by I earnt the role of Production Manager, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There was so much variety within this role and many challenges to go with it. I loved dealing with customers both overseas and within New Zealand. Working with suppliers to get top quality materials to produce an excellent product, and of course working with the wonderful staff in NZ and our company in USA and UK.
I could write a novel about the many highs and lows throughout my time but we all had plenty of fun and we produced many many pumps and everyone was treated like family.
I would like to thank the NZ Pump Company, all the wonderful staff I worked with throughout my time, customers and suppliers for making my job a great one, and I would like to wish each and every one of these people all the very best for the future.
