Choosing the right Hand Drum Pump for you

Drum pumps are used all over the world in a range of applications. There are many choices of manual or hand drum pumps on the market, from robust plastic through to steel & Teflon.

What Are You Going To Use a Plastic Pump For?
Plastic pumps are made from different plastics. The better plastic pumps are made from polypropylene. But not all polypropylene is the same.
The high quality, robust polypropylene used to make Ezi-action® Drumpumps means that they not only provide excellent chemical resistance but they have excellent impact resistance and performance at low temperatures (zero degrees celcius). They will dispense many fluids including acids, (including urea also known as AdBlue, DEF and AUS32), alkalines (including soaps), caustic and chlorine based chemicals, oils, diesel oil and liquid fertilizers with confidence.  Ezi-action® Drumpumps will give you chemical resistance and longevity.

Do you need a pump that will not contaminate your liquid product?
Do you want a hand drum pump that will assure the purity of your chemical during transfer or for use with liquid food products? If so you will need to check that the product is made from FDA compliant materials and compliant with food hygiene regulations and manufactured under standards of best practice. You need to be confident that swarf ( bits of plastic) are removed during manufacture and that there is no risk that your liquid product could become contaminated during pumping.
Ezi-action® Drumpumps are manufactured in New Zealand to a very high level of workmanship. They can be used with confidence.

What Size Pump Do You Need?
Ezi-action® Drumpumps are available for 20litre, 60litre and 200litre containers and drums (5gallon, 15gallon and 55gallon barrels). The Ezi-action® 1000/220 IBC Pump is available for IBC's and 1000 litre totes or 220 gallon pods. Where the container opening is 45mm or wider there is an Ezi-action® Drumpump to fit.

Will The Pump Give Value For Money?
When you pay less you get less. This applies with plastic pumps as well. The lower the cost of the plastic pump the poorer the quality of materials of construction and the poorer the quality of the assembly process.

Low cost pumps fail quicker. They need to be replaced often. A lower price means less features so cannot be used where safety is important. A lower price means lower quality materials and lower quality of construction so cannot be used with confidence where chemical purity or liquid food transfer is important. Drums have different threads but lower priced plastic pumps usually come with only one threaded fitting.  That one fitting wont necessarily fit your drum. Leakage and wastage are synonymous with lower priced plastic drum pumps.

Ezi-action® Drumpumps offer safety features, high quality construction from superior FDA compliant plastic materials.

Ezi-action® Drumpumps are offered with the adaptor fittings that will secure the pump to your drum or container and ensure all the contents can be emptied.

With Ezi-action® Drumpumps there is a range of fittings to suit drums whatever the threaded opening. This means that they don’t leak. Further the fitting slides along the pump shaft so that the pump can be positioned on the base of the drum to remove all the drum contents. This means there is no wastage.

Unlike piston and rotary pumps Ezi-action® Drumpumps do not have O rings. They will pump viscous liquids. Further this means there are no parts to wear. Unlike piston and rotary pumps Ezi-action® Drumpumps are fully serviceable. They give years of use.

Ezi-action® Drumpumps are not the cheapest hand pumps in the world but they are the best. They are a cost effective choice.

Is The Pump Easy To Use?
The idea of a hand drum pump is to make dispensing liquids a lot easier. Ezi-action® Drumpumps not only have the solid, ergonomic round ball handle for pumping with one hand but the absence of O rings means there is no friction to be overcome during pumping.  The Ezi-action® Drumpump pumps vertically. No bending over and aggravating sore backs. Pumping is truly easier.

What About Safety?
Hand / manual drum pumps are used to make pumping chemicals safer. But not all have safety features that work.
With Ezi-action® Drumpumps the ball handle is secured onto the plunger shaft and the anti pumping / safety lock is proven effective.  The spigot locks the safety strap into place. You can be confident that a child or unauthorized personnel will not be able to access the poisonous and hazardous contents of the drum.

When you are pumping high value or harsh chemicals you should be looking for features that offer smarter and safer handling.
The Ezi-action® Safety Measure that locks onto the Ezi-action® Drumpumps not only offers totally enclosed delivery but the unique two-way calibrations means accurate decanting and dispensing.  Being manufactured from FDA compliant plastics under best practice means confidence with the delivery of liquid foods as well.
