WHAT VISCOSITY CAN BE PUMPED?

Ezi-action® Drumpumps are proven to dispense honey, molasses, gels, coconut oil, olive oil, motor oil, shampoo......

A useful guide is that Ezi-action® Drumpumps will dispense fluids of 8,800cps.

The ambient temperature is important.

Viscosity is measured at room temperature of 21C or 70F.

The table gives an indication of liquids that can be pumped with Ezi-action® Drumpumps:

Fluids that do not flow cannot be pumped with Ezi-action® Drumpumps. For example sour cream (100,000 cps) and liquid glucose (also known as glucose syrup) that has the consistency of peanut butter ( 250,000 cps), cannot be pumped using an Ezi-action® Drumpump.

Speed of Pumping

The pumping principle requires that the fluid fills up the inner chamber (plunger)  and outer case pipe before flowing out the spout.

So when the fluid is more viscous (thicker) it is slower to fill up and a few more priming strokes are required.
