WHAT ARE THE BEST HAND PUMPS FOR ADBLUE DIESEL EXHAUST FLUIDS?

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) passed the Clean Air Act over 40 years ago. As part of this Act the EPA has constantly tried to improve air quality standards by lowering emissions of poisonous gases and pollutants including NOx (nitrogen oxide) from on-road vehicles, electric utilities and off-road equipment.

At a federal level the EPA sets the limits for emissions standards for diesel engines and enforces rules against manufacturers who don't meet these standards. It also offers guidelines to improve fuel efficiency of diesel engines and monitors the technology choices made by manufacturers.

A key part of the strategy of reducing emissions has been the use of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) in order to lower NOx concentration in the diesel exhaust emissions. Known as AdBlue, it can reduce emissions up to 90%.

EPA requirements along with global rising automobile sales and new technologies such as hybrid selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) are forecast to dramatically increase demand for AdBlue over the next five years. Increased demand is expected across all vehicle types from domestic automobiles to offroad vehicles (over 75hp) to heavy duty trucks.

In the US, AdBlue is only available at the pump for trucks, so owners of diesel SUVs and cars need to buy AdBlue in storage containers of various sizes. As AdBlue is a corrosive acid it can only be stored in high-density polyethylene, polypropylene or stainless steel containers. Furthermore, any fluid transfer pumps must also be non-corrosive which rules out any parts made of copper, nickel, zinc, mild iron or aluminium.

This is where Ezi-action Drum Pumps come in. Made from FDA compliant, superior quality polypropylene and LDPE plastic, Ezi-action hand pumps have a very broad chemical, acid and caustic resistance. In addition, because they are the world's only fully serviceable hand chemical drum pump, they can be maintained to ensure no foreign matter contaminates the AdBlue.

Eziaction drum pumps are made in the USA and New Zealand under strict controls meeting ISO22241-3 which is the international standard for handling, transportation and storage. They come with a 24 month warranty, are available across North and South America, and supported by our team based in California. If you have AdBlue containers, drums or barrels from 5 to 55 gallons or 220 gallon totes or IBCs, then use Eziaction drum pumps to manage your AdBlue safely and reliably.
